Shaping light: the 'magic' of optical lenses pt.2

Asymmetrical or BAT Lens?

Asymmetrical Lens (AS), the blind spot of light: The Asymmetrical solution consists of an AS lens, capable of deflecting the light beam along only one direction. The construction of the lens allows this lighting effect without affecting the structure of the LED module, only affecting the final product component, which remains standard.
BAT lens, light spreads its wings: BAT is the most practical and effective lighting solution for shelf lighting along an aisle.
The lens that achieves this distribution owes its name to bat wings and is specially constructed for retail applications to highlight products along supermarket aisles.
To achieve this effect, the light on the ground is sacrificed.
In addition to this lens, there is also the BAT WD (Wide), which is a BAT lens with a wider beam, so as to cover shelves in much wider aisles in large supermarkets.

These specific lenses are not only used in the retail sector but can also be used in industrial and commercial environments, as they are versatile and suitable for improving lighting uniformity while minimising glare.
