FCA Fiat Nuova 500 Elettrica – Torino, Italy
The Fiat Nuova 500 borns under the light of 3F Filippi
For our company, the latest order obtained by FCA is a source of pride for two reasons. In addition to the prestige of the Group, of which we are now consolidated partners in Italy and around the world, this latest supply of luminaires is particularly significant because they were chosen to light up the assembly and quality control activities of the Fiat Nuova 500, the first full electric car of FCA, one of the most iconic cars ever made by the historic Turin-based company.
To offer the best light to the employees involved in these activities, 3F Filippi has made available 3F Linda, one of its flagship products, with its over 28 million pieces sold all over the world. To be precise, FCA customised versions have been installed (2x22W for the production activity and 2X30W for the final inspection), equipped with a special opal diffuser and placed along the line sides of the department dedicated to the construction of the new car, at the inside the historic factory in Mirafiori (Turin).
The customization requested by FCA also included the presence of the socket-plug of all approximately 1,400 lighting fixtures installed. This element was chosen by the technicians to allow assembly and possible replacement of the luminaire in a few minutes, without interfering with the activities carried out in the production line.
In addition to this department, FCA has decided to choose 3F Filippi fixtures to also light up the new Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) pilot plant, also present in Mirafiori, with over 600 3F Linda 1X30W. Born from the partnership with ENGIE Eps and Terna, the new bi-directional infrastructure (which allows both to charge the car and to return power to the grid) will allow 700 vehicles to be interconnected by the end of 2021, thus becoming the largest existing reality in the world of this type.
