The schools Il Pellicano were founded in Bologna in 1989, when a group of parents decided to create a cooperative aimed at supporting educational initiatives. The name they chose represents the memory of an ancient legend according to which the pelican, an image of Christ, offers its own heart to feed and save the poor creatures.

Today, this organization has 3 Directors, 6 Secretaries, 29 Teachers, 8 Specialists, 42 Educators, 10 Collaborators, 4 External Specialists, and over 450 CHILDREN, divided into three facilities: Il Pellicano Primary School, Minelli Giovannini Preschool, and Cristo Re Preschool. Some of the distinctive features of the proposal include Reason, Space, Time, Body, English, Manual Skills, and Music.

It is precisely one of these features, Space, that has prompted the Board of Directors and teachers to consider how it can be further improved, as it is considered essential for learning and suited to the needs of the children. At this point, 3F Filippi joined the project to provide its LED technology lighting fixtures, carrying out a complete relamping of the spaces thanks to E-Wide, a company of the Tremagi group (Illumia, Wekiwi, and Energyup), reducing energy consumption by over 50%, compared to the previous fluorescent system.

For the lighting of the classrooms, the Zero 3F was used, a product specifically designed to achieve unparalleled luminous uniformity on all surfaces. 3F Zeta was chosen to light the corridors and technical rooms, to increase the lighting on the walking surface, thus ensuring greater safety and comfort for students and teachers. In the gyms, the 3F Linda was installed, a robust and long-lasting product, to ensure greater visibility of objects and people thanks to its ad-hoc lighting. For all other rooms, the 3F LED Panel was chosen, which provides the right light according to needs thanks to the possibility of adjusting the luminous flux.

Thanks to these solutions, 3F Filippi has brought the following advantages to the Space:

• More lighting on work surfaces according to the latest regulatory updates (UNI EN 12464-1);
• Optimal light uniformity on walls and ceiling to increase visual communication on all surfaces where teaching material is placed;
• Increased light brilliance;
• Photobiological risk of sources EXEMPT;
• No emission of IR and UV components.

The excellence of 3F Filippi's 'made in Italy' lighting gives a new look to the rooms of the Il Pellicano schools, improving the quality of life of the people who populate its spaces every day, with an eye always turned to the future.
